Play Submission Form
MOJOAA Performing Arts Company invites Black playwrights/playwrights of the African diaspora that are writing primarily in English to submit short plays, monologues, one acts and full length plays. We accept rolling submissions from Black playwrights living in the American South and Black Trans Playwrights living anywhere in the United States. Short plays and monologues will be considered for our upcoming monthly staged reading film series. Every month from September to June we will release a filmed staged reading of a short play or monologue (10 pages or less). Audio of post reading discussion among the cast can be made available to the playwright.
One act and full length plays will be considered for full production in our season. Playwrights will be compensated if their work is chosen for full production and can be in communication with the cast and director throughout the process.
Playwrights retain full rights of their piece throughout the process. MOJOAA Performing Arts Company will not produce work without the express permission of the playwright. We will not share submitted works without the permission of the playwright.
There is no deadline but we make decisions about our season in May and we choose work for the staged readings bi-annually in the summer and the winter.
**Please note that we only accept submissions from Black playwrights living in the American South and Black Trans/GNC/NB playwrights living anywhere in the US.**
Please fill out the form below to submit your work to us.
